What's the difference between Designer, Senior Designer, and Principal Designer?
Designer is built for fast, straightforward creation. It's ideal for simple tasks, clear instructions, and quick drafts where speed and efficiency matter most.
Senior Designer focuses on refinement and improvement. It's best used when you already have content or ideas and want them edited, enhanced, or structured more thoughtfully.
Principal Designer is designed for high-end, complex, and open-ended work. It can both create and edit at an advanced level, applying deeper reasoning, broader context, and more extensive refinement. Because it evaluates more possibilities and thinks more deeply before delivering a result, it naturally consumes more AI resources.
In short, the higher the Designer level, the deeper the thinking, the higher the quality — and the greater the resources used to produce the output.
By default your agent will only use Designer and Senior Designer for cost efficiency. You will have a separate button to specifically use Principal Designer.
