Uploading a file using FTP software is actually pretty similar to <a style=\"color: #f4662d;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cldy.com\/support\/help\/how-to-navigate-your-file-manager-using-cpanel\/\">using the File Manager process<\/a>, it\u2019s just that you\u2019ll be using external software to do the process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<a style=\"color: #f4662d;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File_Transfer_Protocol\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FTP<\/a>\u201d means \u201cFile Transfer Protocol.\u201d It is basically a method of connecting two computers to each other in the most secure possible way to enable file transfer between two points or more. In this case, one of the \u201cpoints\u201d is the FTP Client you\u2019ve installed on your PC, and the other \u201cpoint\u201d is your CLDY web hosting space. Using FTP then allows file transfers directly between your PC and your CLDY server, and vice versa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using FTP and FTP software has its Advantages and Disadvantages, however, as a website and WebHost owner, you have to be aware of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Advantages<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using FTP via FTP clients allows you to transfer multiple files at once.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using FTP allows you to transfer directories (folders), even multiple folders, at once, as well.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Super speedy transfers, especially compared to HTTP (browser) transfers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No filesize limitations for transfers. Browser transfers can only handle a maximum of 2GB for most web hosts.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>NOTE:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> With CLDY, we give you 19.55GB for uploads. Being able to send larger file sizes, and working on batch transfers is the priority for using FTP Clients. However, spyware-laden software still exists.
